Slight visual issue

I was playing Spyro the Dragon and discovered that the whirl winds that lift you to higher areas do not appear. They are there, I can hear them and walk into them, but they are invisible.

I am using the SVN build of PCSX-R posted today on EmuCR (http://www.emucr.com/2012/08/pcsx-reloaded-svn-r79276.html) but also tried the latest build from 2010 posted here on CodePlex, which had the same issue. I tested the game with the same save, same plugins, same settings on ePSXe, and the whirl winds appeared as they should. I've also tried using different video plugins, none of which worked correctly either.

Hello, I wanted to bump this because I recently came across this issue as well, using PCSX-R revision 82966. I tried the bundled software and OpenGL plugins, as well as Pete's OpenGL2 as well as gpuBladeSoft, and the whirlwinds would not appear no matter what I did on any of those plugins, even though I can hear and use them just fine. I'm thinking at this point it's an issue with the emulation core, unless there's something I'm doing wrong.

Another bump. I'm encountering the same issue in 1.9.93. It seems the GPU is being sent quads with four identical vertices. Example command:
2c808080 00410036 617d40e0 00410036 001e40ff 00410036 00005fe0 00410036 001e5fff

Note every vertex being 00410036. The location seems to be correct, but it's supposed to have a nonzero size! Most likely there's an error somewhere upstream. Perhaps it's the GTE? I'm not quite at the level where I can trace data all the way back there, though.

Hello Everyone,

This is not an issue in pcsxr-91276 with the us-version of the game.

Hey, you're right! The OS X side of that version is even wonkier, though. Gah. I'm willing to shave off a few rough edges for my own use, but I won't work on it like an actual PCSXR developer. For now I'll just stay on 1.9.93.
