Malfunctioning controls if bios is used.

The controller randomly stops working for a split second every now and then, buttons don't register, and the latest button or direction I pressed repeats (for example player character moves on its own in the latest direction for a second). This only happens if I select the bios file, if I use "simulate bios" it doesn't happen, but the sound is broken in the game I wanted to play without the bios (Raystorm).

Is this a known issue? Any way to fix?

According to Ckain this was fixed.

By the way this happens with every input plugin. If I don't use a bios file the controls work well, but the sound breaks in the game I want to emulate (Raystorm).

Same here. I tried the stable version and the SVN version and the bug appear on both versions. I'm not experiencing trouble with the audio. My system is running Archlinux, using ALSA for sound. The bug is reproducible with a minimal X server session and dissapears using a bios file.I've only tried one game, Final Fantasy IX. I'm not sure if the bug is still present on other games.

I use the same rip of the PS1 bios I've used since the nineties when I first started messing with emulation. It's the SCPH1001.bin from the original gray PS1 (not the PSOne). Just to be sure it wasn't my bios being broken I tried it again with a bunch of bioses I downloaded from the internet (yeah, I know, it was just for testing anyway, and I deleted them after) and had the same issue. The game I tried is Raystorm (NTSC rip I made myself from the original disc). I know the rip and bios are fine because I got my Raystorm fix on ePSXe and it worked perfectly as usual.

Changing pad from analog pad to pure digital should help. This at least was the case with Vanark + Dualshock + BIOS.

I downloaded SCPH7502 and the sound is completely broken on top of the controls getting stuck like I described above. Even if I run the bios only the iconic PS1 startup sound is all mangled. On ePSXe it works fine.

I don't know if it's an issue with Raystorm (NTSC) only or any other game, that's the only game I have right now, I have more disc based games for PS1 but my computer has no disc drive right now.

Maybe the dev team should look into this.

Raystorm...confirmed. Also happens with Simple 1500 Series version (Raycrisis combo).

Control is lost for 1 second or periodically about every minute or so.

I found a solution how to fix input.

However it needs more testing and I want to fix this issue at the same time since it seems to be related:
