How were Abe games fixed?

I was trying to incorporate the "Abe's game fix" (aka "no sprite transparency") into TAS soft video plugin, that was forked from PEOPS. The thing is, PEOPS plugin did have that fix until version 1.5, when Pete removed it and never fixed the very issue.

It looks like both your (pcsxr's) plugins (soft and GL) have it fixed, but I can't figure out how. Or at least, at what step, since pcsxr's video plugin is also also a fork of PEOPS. Can anyone guide me?

Not sure what you mean, but check r82713 changes. If that's not it, then just keep going revs down on those plugins until it is not working anymore.

I mean that the sprites were leaving traces in Abe's games. This is how it looks:

But what's weird, even the plugin that does so in PCSX, doesn't do it in your emulator! So it must be some CPU fix...

I found it! It was done by Wei Mingzhi in r42418. I used that new method and it works great now.
